With over 20 years of experience in construction and implementation processes, Michael is a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of what it takes to bring any pool vision to life. He is a respected member of several esteemed organizations including, but not limited to: the Better Business Bureau of North Carolina, the N.C. Chamber of Commerce, the N.C. Association of Nurserymen, the Master Pools Guild, and Association of Pool and Spa Professionals (APSP). Michael’s expertise and commitment to quality ensure that every project results in a high-quality, lasting pool. This dedication along with his goal to “make every client a good reference” is the reason clients continue to trust Michael’s advice and expertise long after completion of their project.
Tony Carter – Pool Design and Construction Manager – NC License #: Q.23923
With over 20 years in swimming pool and landscape design and installation, Tony brings a wealth of expertise to every project. As a graduate of NC State University’s School of Design in Landscape Architecture, he possesses deep knowledge in all aspects of pool design, construction, and maintenance, ensuring exceptional results every time. Tony’s designs have earned excellence awards from multiple industry organizations as well as being a published feature designer in “Pool & Spa Living”.
Nick Simic – 3D Pool Lead Designer
A Graduate of East Carolina University with a degree in Business and Marketing Management, Nick is a former collegiate swimmer and one of our in house designers. He merges his swimming background, business acumen, and design expertise to transform client visions into reality. By working closely with clients and applying his knowledge of pool construction, Nick ensures every project has a strong foundation from the very first meeting.
Javier Otero – Pool Construction Foreman
With over 25 years of experience in commercial and high-end residential swimming pool construction, Javier brings unmatched expertise to every stage of the process, from layout to final structure completion. His extensive background includes commercial pools, custom water features, residential recreational pools, and therapeutic installations. Javier expertly leads his team to ensure that each project is executed with precision and excellence.
Brian Puckett – Pool Construction and Hardscapes Manager
Brian is a graduate of NC State University’s Landscape Horticulture program and has over 20 years of experience in landscaping, horticulture, and pool construction. With his knowledge and expertise Brian works closely with our masons to not only create a beautiful backyard but to make sure it can weather any storm. Drainage and erosion control is a huge part to making sure your pool lasts a lifetime and Brian makes sure that it does all while making sure your landscaper has a good foundation to set your plants.
Jose Cruz – Concrete and Masonry Manager
With over 15 years of experience in designing and constructing beautiful concrete and masonry projects, Jose has mastered the art of creating structures that not only enhance the landscape but bring the project together as a whole. With his meticulous attention to detail and his exceptional eye for natural beauty Jose ensures that every project harmonizes perfectly with the natural surroundings.
Perla Hernandez – Office Manager
With over 20 years of experience in managing the administrative and executive support tasks for large construction projects, Perla expertly oversees every detail, from permits and applications to inspections and HOA approvals. In addition to these responsibilities, she efficiently manages the daily office operations, ensuring everything runs smoothly. You can trust that all processes are handled with precision and care, giving you peace of mind.
Hunter Gress – Project Manager – Hunter is a second-generation pool builder who brings a wealth of experience, unwavering dedication, and a personable touch to every project. As the lead on concrete and plaster application days, Hunter ensure these large processes are executed meticulously. With a passion for the industry that began at the age of 15, Hunter’s commitment to quality and exceptional customer care makes the journey from concept to completion smooth and enjoyable.
Landon Gress – Pool Start-up Technician
Landon, a second-generation pool builder, embarked on his career in the pool industry at just 16, starting with service and maintenance. His extensive knowledge of pool mechanics and construction has made him an invaluable asset, known for his meticulous attention to detail and commitment to client education. Landon takes pride in ensuring every pool is expertly setup and started, while also offering clients expert guidance on keeping their pools in pristine condition.
James Foley – Operations Manager
With a Masters in Molecular Biology from Appalachian State University and a background in establishing and running molecular diagnostic labs James isn’t someone you would expect to see in the pool business. James brings the same level of detail, organization, and structure to the company that you would expect to see in the medical field so that everything runs smoothly from stage to stage.
Gress’ Inc. was established in 1998 in Raleigh, NC. Initially starting in custom residential work, we have expanded our company to include high-end residential and commercial construction. We have grown to two swimming pool crews, two hardscapes crews (which include wet and dry natural stone, brick, pavers, retaining walls, etc…)..
Our teams at Gress Inc. have been expertly trained with horticulture and landscape architecture degrees from North Carolina State University and have many years experience in the field before and after college. With this knowledge Gress’ Inc. is able to design the best possible outdoor living experience for our customers and contractors.
